Rund 600 Teilnehmer nahmen an der Kundgebung des Österreichischen Familiennetzwerks vor dem österreichischen Parlament teil, darunter Kardinal Christoph Schönborn und "Familienbischof" Klaus Küng.  Das Gros der Anwesenden bildeten Eltern und zahlreiche Kinder.
Für ein Umdenken in Richtung einer "umfassenden Kinder- und Familienfreundlichkeit" haben sich die Teilnehmer der Kundgebung unter dem Motto "Familie schenkt Zukunft" vor dem Parlament in Wien ausgesprochen. ---> mehr

Ich bin in Japan geboren und aufgewachsen am Land und in einer buddhistischen Familie, wo die Mutter besonders religiös war. Meine Mutter betete jeden Morgen und Abend und opferte täglich den ersten Reis zu Buddha und den Ahnen. Wenn wir Geschenke von Gäste bekamen, opferten wir das Geschenk vor dem Altar, aus der Dankbarkeit an unsere Vorfahren, die uns immer beschützten.

Dr. Maria Riehl aus Wien und Yung Ja Rechberger (S-Korea) nahmen gemeinsam mit 800 Frauen der Women’s Federation for World Peace
aus 50 Nationen - darunter eine 80-köpfige Delegation aus Europa - an dieser Versöhnungskonferenz teil.
Dabei wurden die Grenzen der beiden geteilten Staaten der koreanischen Halbinsel überschritten. Sie hatten die
für Nichtkoreaner und Nichtkoreanerinnen seltene Chance, in das Diamantgebirge Nordkoreas zu
reisen.

Under the motto of "Heart to Heart", European women from 8 nations gathered together in the Netherlands for the
Third European Regional Women’s Federation for World Peace Meeting in November 2006. Nobuko Bruins,

The Peace Institute „Friede –Institut fuer Dialog” in Vienna, organised a meeting sponsored by the
City of Vienna in the name of Interreligious Dialogue, for 2 days beginning on Thursday
Corpus Christi Holiday 15th June 2006 under the patronage of Dr Andreas Khol the
President of the National Council of Austria and in cooperation with the Catholic theological
Faculty of the University of Vienna and Decan Martin Ruprecht of the Archdiocese of Vienna. ... more ->

Pioneers of heart met after the weekend seminar in Melk for a celebratory
lunch at Burg Ruine Aggstein, a Castle ruin, in lower Austria. 

The Ambassadors for Peace Project, supported by Women's Federation for World Peace International is in
full swing. In Austria too, on a Saturday in June, six different women were recognised for their heart of peace.

To conclude the seminar which took place at the Youth Hostel in Melk on Saturday
of the Pentecost weekend, the "Bridges of Peace" project was introduced by Ingrid Lindemann,
president of Women's Federation in Germany. Then Renate Amesbauer, President of OEFF
(Österreichische Frauenfoederation für Weltfrieden) called out matching numbers which were drawn by participating sisters.

Elisabeth Cook addressed the WFWPI seminar in Melk with an
introduction from the lecture series designed to promote strong families.

Women as Peacemakers

Dynamic Women and Ambassadors for peace from 5 Continents, 7 Regions and 33 nations met in the
romantic country town of Seebenstein, one hour south of Vienna from September 22^nd to
Sunday September 26^th 2004 for the 5^th International Women’s Federation for World Peace Leaders’ Conference.

The United Nations Women's Guild recognised the Women's Federation for World Peace International (WFWPI) Austrian Chapter
OEFFWF (Oesterreichischefrauenfoederation fuer Weltfrieden) Salzburg Branch, with an award of € 7,000.00 to help the
needy in Albania and support the Gardens of Mothers and Children of the Christian Children's Fund.
